Dainandini

The Dainandini is designed in the form of a Year Diary based on Bharatiya Utsav (festivals) to record notes everyday. Just like any other Year Diary, it is also useful as a Planner or Journal limited only by your creative imagination. However there is a big difference, it starts from the month of Chaitra and ends with Falgun as per Bharatiya Calendar rather than January to December of Gregorian Calendar. A natural extension to the DinDarshika and TithiDarshika product range, to explore the Indian way of time measuring (Bharatiya Kal Ganana) further.

Although the primary objective is to get used to the Tithi and understand how our festivals are linked to it, the byproduct of adopting / maintaining the habit of daily writing a diary will be amongst the most precious gifts to yourself and others. Adorned with the consciously selected verses along with colourful visuals depicting the core of the Bharatiya Festivals, the diary will  keep one inspired everyday.

It might be little difficult to adopt to daily writing specially for those who are not accustomed to observing festivals as per traditional days – Tithi, but it’s only our loss if we are not embracing it now. To keep it simple there are three days (Tithi) per page, enough space to Write, allowing enough time to Think. As Maharshi Patanjali says in Yog Sutra, – Practice (Abhyasa) performed with constant efforts for a long time, without interruption and with earnest devotion becomes firmly grounded.

स तु दीर्घकालनैरन्तर्यसत्कारासेवितो दृढभूमिः ॥

No need to emphasise the benefits of maintaining a daily diary but in short one becomes more organised, self-aware and serves as a record of life to reflect on one’s journey. Humanity would be nowhere if our great ancestors and Rishi would not have noted down their realisations & reflections on the ultimate goal of life, in form of different Shastra (definitely originally coming form oral ricitation).
